Springfield Distillery’s Beaver King Rum is a robust spirit distilled from sugar cane molasses and is bottled at 40% alcohol by volume (80 proof). Continuing in rum’s rich heritage in the Commonwealth of Virginia since the British attempted to curtail the industry through the Molasses act of 1733 and the Sugar Act of 1764, Beaver King Rum is inspired by one of our local fur trappers and all those who had to endure the rigors of working outdoors. Rum is a traditional spirit that was commonplace during revolutionary times and it is best served on days that end in a “y” during the first twelve months of the year.
